Wollongong Punk Rockers Thomas Covenant have released new single ‘Bubbles’ exclusively here, on Kill Your Scene.

90 minutes south of Sydney, punk rock still lives and breathes. With the opening of small independent venues around the coastal town, a new scene of highly energetic raw music has been developing. One of the bands at the forefront of this sound is Thomas Covenant, a band of young and slightly insane musicians. They’re now in the process of releasing their first single ‘Bubbles’ as well as playing some rowdy shows around Sydney.

They have been playing sporadically around Wollongong and Sydney for the past twelve months, building a loyal fan base mostly through word-of -mouth. They have recently been packing out venues in Wollongong and violating indecent exposure laws in Sydney venues, bringing with them “a fantastic mess of a set” (Radar Illawarra, 2011) that they are known for all so well. After recently recording at Mr Milk Studios in Annandale, they have now been able to capture that energy into the recording ‘Bubbles’.

The song features traits that have come to shape the Thomas Covenant sound including intricate melodic guitar sounds, unexpected vocal harmonies and lyrics about the wonders of drugs. Thomas Covenant plan to expand on this single, with plans to go back into the Mr Milk’s studios for EP tracking soon.
