So what’s happening in your world right now?

Currently in the studio recording our second Swivelhead album -25 Songs have been written. One song is totally completed and getting mixed now as we are getting ready to shoot a Video Clip in Jan 2012. Swivelhead has been getting a lot of airplay on a number of overseas Internet Radio Stations inc Indie104.com, USUKOZ Radio, IndieRock Cafe, 808stilezproductions.com, www.WOSRadio.com. Hype33 Entertainment shopped our music to Media/Labels that attended Music Matters 24-26 May 2011 Singapore. Gibson/Gaelic Club/Drum Media CrossRoads Guitar Competition – Melissa made it to the Top 20 Heats in early August 2011. Swivelhead was on a compilation CD “Jack, Jill & Coke Vol. 2″ with 5000 CDs being sent out in the Drum Media 20.12.11- http://www.streetpress.com.au/online_mags/DM/DM_1091/ see page 97.  Swivelhead was selected to play at Scorcherfest Sunshine Coast 29 Oct 2011 – unfortunately had to pull out due to Recording & Video Clip Filming deadlines. We have Submitted to play at SxSW Festival, Austin 2012. Been selected for a Touring Opportunity in Dec 2011 – currently checking that out.

How long have you guys been playing and how did you meet?

Since 2003, we met working in other bands, & also through university.

Why the name, what does it mean?

We liked the sound of it. We wanted something “cutting edge”. The word itself bears some resemblance to people taking notice of certain things in life. However you could also say that the name was inspired by Talking Heads and Machine Head, 2 bands we love very much.

Where do see the band in 5 years time?

Based overseas, alternating between Recording & Touring. Most importantly loving and continuing to enjoy what we do. Though, winning a stack of Aria Awards & Grammy Awards would be a bonus.

What shows are coming up that you’re playing at?

We were booked to play Scorcher Fest in Sunshine Coast 29 Oct, 2011, but unfortunately, had to pull because of Recording Deadlines & Video Shoots. We have been selected for a Touring Opportunity in Dec 2011 that we are checking out. Off to Austin in March 2012 for the SxSW Festival. We will be launching our New Album in June 2012 – finalising details now.

Any albums, ep’s released or coming out?

Yes, we released our First Album a couple of years called – “Swivelhead” by Swivelhead http://www.swivelhead.com.au/store Our Next Album is in the final stages now – recording Final Guitars. Another 25/30 Songs/ Riffs have been written.

Who is you’re fav band you’ve shared the stage with, so far?

Dead Letter Circus would be one of the best moments.

What do you guys mainly sing about?

The music is a heady cocktail of melodic hooks. The songs are intense, with Lyrics are about betrayal, love, obsession, denial.

Most people don’t like to be fit into a genre, but if you had to place your music in a CD shop, where would you put it?

AlterBridge
Three days grace
Paramore
