Bedtime For Charlie – Bright Light City Skyline
19/06/2012 in Music
Italian Punk Rock is virtually non-existent here in Australia, so I’m trying to make some kind of awareness by bringing you some of Italy’s finest melodic hardcore / punk rock bands and this is one of them. They hail from Rome and are called Bedtime For Charlie, they sing in English and pretty much remind me of that sound I love.
Just imagine Millencolin got together with Radicus, smashed down a few beers in the recording studio and banged out some of the finest tunes the Italian punk scene would hear. Bright Light City Skyline is similar to Bedtime For Charlies previous album but with better production and a more mature approach of song writing.
The album kicks it with “Throwing Life Away”, an anthem driven by harmonic and gang vocals. The album is a mixture of pop-punk and melodic skate music similar to Rise Against and Heartsounds with up-tempo guitar harmonies and leads.
The album is great but not breath taking, I think we’re going to see big things from this band if they stick to their guns.
