Questions answered by Will Smith (Drummer)

So what’s happening in your world right now?

We are currently residing in Los Angeles and are in the works planning out some big ideas and projects for our 2012 year.

How long have you guys been playing and how did you meet?

We have been playing in this band for over 8 years now. We met in high school at the age of 14 and started playing in the bedroom, then locally, then touring all over the country.

Why the name, what does it mean?

The name originated when we were at a Blink 182 concert in 2002 when someone mentioned that we are “barely blind” because of how far back we were. The name just stuck with us over the years and has morphed into several different meanings as we continue.

Where do see the band in 5 years time?

In five years I want a few things. I want to be making even better records than we are now and I want to see the world. Those things are going to be a lot easier to do if we are seeing financial results so hopefully the gods can bless us with good fortune. We are all in our twenties and don’t mind doing what is necessary to get by but we all also understand that at 38 its going to be a little different assuming we will have wives and little barely blind children to feed.

What shows are coming up that you’re playing at?

We are working on putting together a number of shows and performances. Once they are in line we will let the world know.

Any albums, ep’s released or coming out?

We released our first album Wilder Child of a Thousand Suns for free back in october and we intend on getting that out to the world before we make plans to follow up.

Any video clips online we can check out?

We are in the process of filming some things for the song cant expect but for now you can check out the video that inspired us to move out here its for the song nature of the beast.

Who is you’re fav band you’ve shared the stage with, so far?

We have had the opportunity to play with some really great bands over the years umm…My personal favorite experience was playing with Eve 6 in a basketball arena then a few days later playing with the plain white Ts at the meridian in Houston. That week was crazy.

Got just one good story you care to share?

A good and short/embarrassing story goes like this. We were at the new york warped tour BBQ and I spot Eric Melvin of NOFX (my childhood hero). I walk up and start talking to him. He offers me a drink , I take it then we start into a nice conversation. Mid sentence I drop my drink and it explodes to the point that he had mango mojito in his hair on his face ect. He was so cool he just looked at me and said “dude my friends the bartender lemme get you another one”

What do you guys mainly sing about?

We sing about honest everyday situations. The ones that inspire you, the ones that hurt you and the ones that bore you. All real experiences that anyone can relate to.
