Anchors – Bad JuJu
20/04/2012 in Music
Are you into tech skater punk bands? Complaining that there isn’t any Australian bands like that? Well you obviously don’t have this in your collection… Yep, another skater punk review and this time it’s from Anchors who are hailing from Melbourne. They’re catchy yet still fresh and raw so get into them before they get polished in 5 years time and become famous, then you can say “I was there man, I was there…” when you’re older and they’ve just released their 5th studio album. Anchors play foundational, substantial melodic punk-hardcore that’s not too far from the bands such as A Wilhelm Scream, Strike Anywhere or Strung Out.
Next time you’re on a road trip and need some 3 min skater punk songs, then I recommend this album, it’s fast, loud, technical and a good mixture of the genres they love with anthem styles that will hook the younger and older generations. The tracks that stand out the most are We Are Oscar Mike, Bad JuJu and Crush Syndrome which are sure to please the listeners and bring many eargasms world wide.
This album is available via Creator-Destructor Records now.
I give this album a rating of 7.5/10
